Erasmus+ Programme 2014-2020

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s new programme in the fields of Education, Training, Youth & Sport for the period 2014-2020. The Programme is the result of the integration of seven already existing EU programmes in these fields which aims at boosting skills and employability as well as modernising Education, Training and Youth systems and reinforcing the European citizen’s identity. During these seven years, Erasmus+ will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad.

Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation, according to the Ministerial Decision 25080/ΙΑ/21-2-2014 (O.G.G. 544, Τ.Β. 5.3.2014) is appointed as the National Agency for Erasmus+ for the Youth sector.

Erasmus+, in Youth sector, will help young people to improve their skills and employability, discover new cultures through exchanges and volunteering. Furthermore, Erasmus+ provide youth organizations, youth workers and informal groups with the opportunity to support new and innovative approaches to education and youth fields, collaborate with organizations based abroad and share good practices.

Erasmus+, which was launched on 01/01/2014, is a seven year programme with a budget of  €14.7 billion.

Key Actions of Erasmus+ 

Key Action 1: Learning mobility of individuals

Mobility of young people: It includes Youth Exchanges, European Voluntary Service (EVS) and Mobility of people active in the youth field (youth workers)

Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices which includes Strategic Partnerships in the field of youth   

Key Action 3: Support for policy reform. This Action includes Structured Dialogue  Meetings between young people and decision-makers in the field of Youth
